Travelling Teen Photography Summer Camp 

Our camp is designed for teens who love taking pictures—or just love being creative—and want to actually learn how to make great photos.  Each day, we head to a new, inspiring location around Jerusalem to practice real photography skills: composition, framing, working with light and shadow, color balance, and more. The workshops are hands-on, interactive, and most importantly—fun! Every participant gets personal attention in our small group setting.

Teens and tweens going into 7th through 11th grade who are excited to explore photography, get creative, and have a summer adventure in Jerusalem! No previous experience needed — just curiosity and a love for taking pictures. But, my tween is going into 6th grade. Can they still join?  Yes! I always keep a few spots open for awesome incoming 6th graders who are motivated and excited to learn photography.What if my teen already has photography experience? Will this camp be too basic for them?  Not at all! Because of our small group size, every participant gets personalized attention and will grow their skills from wherever they’re starting.  More experienced photographers will be challenged with deeper composition, lighting, and storytelling techniques to keep them inspired and improving.

Camp is bilingual with both English and Hebrew so your English speaking child is welcome and invited to bring their Hebrew speaking friends!

Throughout the week, they'll build skills in: Composition and framing Using natural light and understanding shadows Creative use of color Exploring different photography styles: architecture, portraiture, landscape, street photography, and more Giving and receiving feedback through supportive peer critiques By the end of the week, they’ll have created a complete digital portfolio —a beautiful record of their creative growth!

We meet every morning at Tachana Rishona (First Station) in Jerusalem.  From there, we’ll take the bus together to that day's location.  Prefer to meet us directly at the site? No problem—participants have that option too.

Please make sure they come with: A Rav Kav (loaded with bus fare) A water bottle A hat for sun protection A mid-day snack or light lunch A fully charged phone or camera And of course, their best positive attitude!

Every day we travel to a different iconic location around Jerusalem—bustling markets, hidden courtyards, ancient alleyways, peaceful gardens—each one chosen to match the day’s photography theme (from street photography to architectural photography to portraits, nature and more!).

Session 1: July 5–9 Session 2: July 12–16 Session 3: July 19–23 Camp runs Sunday to Thursday, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM—ideal hours for teens.

Both smartphone cameras and digital cameras are great for camp! All camp activities are totally adaptable to both and your teen will have a great time using either device.

The remaining balance must be paid by June 14th via bank transfer (info. listed above).

The deposit is refundable until May 18th. After May 18th, the deposit becomes non-refundable. There are no refunds for missed camp days once the session has begun.

Each session requires a minimum of 6 participants in order to run.  If the minimum is not reached, you will be offered either: a transfer to another available session, or a full refund of your deposit.

Hopefully, yes! We’re planning (pending final confirmation) a local teen photography exhibition where each student can showcase their best work. It’s an amazing way to celebrate their growth and creativity!

Hi! 👋 I’m Nili Auerbach, a professional photographer and educator with over 25 years of experience.  I bring a lot of energy, creativity, and a real passion for working with teens. After two hugely successful seasons of camp (last year we were fully booked!), I can’t wait to help this year’s group discover their own photography voice!
